About This Item

Sabzi simply means vegetable, and this mixed vegetable sabzi lets you swap in whichever veggies you like best, so the dish tastes a little different every time you cook it. We've included a starter combination of vegetables to get you going, but feel free to experiment with a new mix the next time around. It's this kind of adaptability and endless combination possibility that has made mixed vegetable sabzi such a staple in Indian kitchens. Want more gravy? Just add extra tomatoes and water. This dish pairs well with warm pita, naan, a whole wheat wrap, or steamed rice, and it also works nicely as a side alongside everyday meals like hamburgers. For a complete, balanced meal, try pairing it with our Yellow Tadka Daal (spice pack sold separately). If the spice level is too much, a bit of yogurt will help cool things down. This recipe serves 4 to 6 people.

What's included in the Indian Spice Kit package:
- Spice blend: cumin, coriander, chili powder, and turmeric
- A traditional recipe card

What you'll still need to pick up yourself (fresh or frozen):
- ½ a cauliflower
- 1 medium green pepper
- 1 medium carrot
- 1 cup of peas
- 1 medium onion
- 2 medium tomatoes
- Cooking oil
- Salt
- 2 tablespoons of cilantro (optional)
