DESCRIPTION: A French wallet is defined by having two distinct sections: 1) an easy-access area for holding bills and cards, and 2) a secured area closed off with a zipper, flap, or kiss lock. This particular French Wallet gives you a snap-button card section that opens into a full-length compartment for bills, plus a zippered pocket suited for coins, earbuds, or other small items. Wallets built in this French style work well for anyone who carries a narrower purse and prefers a wallet with a squared-off shape.

FEATURES: This wallet is made from the same tan kraft paper material used in our popular totes and backpacks, now offered in a new kraft paper colorway that keeps our signature floral designs. Choosing kraft paper supports our ongoing commitment to vegan materials that are plant-based, sustainable, and biodegradable wherever possible. For this wallet, the tan kraft paper has a glossy finish, while the white/blue kraft paper option has a more matte appearance. The zippers used are YKK Excella zippers, considered the top-tier zipper line from YKK, the world's largest zipper manufacturer - these zippers are recognizable by their extra-wide teeth, which give a more premium feel compared to many alternatives. The wallet includes RFID-blocking protection and is PETA-Approved Vegan, meaning it contains no leather or other animal-derived materials.

Kraft Paper compared to Cork: Cork-based products have gained popularity in recent years, but based on our research, cork isn't actually a strong eco-friendly or vegan option, since most of the material's bulk comes from a polyester backing. The actual cork layer glued onto that backing is only a small portion of the material's overall thickness. By comparison, kraft paper is made of at least 50% cellulose - sometimes as much as 80% - making it a considerably more environmentally sound choice in our view. We used to produce items using cork, but stopped doing so a few years back once we understood more about how the material is constructed. We remain open to using cork again in the future if a version without the polyester backing becomes available.
