About This Item

The upper of these sneakers is crafted completely from apple leather, an innovative and long-lasting material made from fibers left over after industrial apple juice and snack manufacturing. Built to endure, it keeps your sneakers performing reliably for years. This vegan apple leather is also fully breathable and waterproof, so you can wear the shoes no matter the weather, whether it's muggy or scorching outside. To the moon and back - always in style! Depending on which color you choose, the interior of these vegan sneakers is lined with either soft, flexible bamboo fabric or breathable organic cotton. On top of that, for health reasons, we chose a natural cork insole, which is durable, antiseptic, moisture-absorbing, and helps prevent chafing. Adding to the appeal is an ultralight, comfortable sole that lets you wear the shoes throughout the day without any downsides. For the JANE model specifically, we kept embellishments to a minimum, with just one exception: a small checkered patch on the back of the upper, made from 100% recycled disposable bottles. In place of standard laces, we used ones made entirely from natural linen, chosen for how easily they can be recycled down the line. This model is built using Strobel construction, a shoemaking method that boosts comfort while cutting adhesive use by 70-80% compared to studded construction techniques. This construction method also improves breathability and helps avoid the unpleasant odors that adhesives can produce when they react with sweat.
