The upper is made completely from apple leather, a sustainable material produced from fibers salvaged out of the waste generated when apple juice is manufactured. This apple leather offers both waterproofing and breathability, making these sneakers a great fit for long walks regardless of weather conditions, be it rainy days or hot temperatures. Thanks to the high quality and durability of this plant-based leather, these sneakers are built to accompany you for years. Inside, the shoes feature a soft, flexible bamboo fabric lining that cradles your feet comfortably, keeping them warm in winter and cool during summer months. Bamboo naturally resists bacteria and fungus while regulating temperature, so your feet stay comfortable throughout every season. In the interest of your wellbeing, we selected natural cork insoles, which are long-lasting, antiseptic, absorb moisture, and help prevent rubbing or chafing. Topping it all off is an ultralight, comfortable sole that lets you wear these shoes the entire day without any downsides. EMMA embodies our minimalist philosophy - we deliberately left out unnecessary embellishments and decorative elements. Rather than conventional laces, we use laces made from 100% natural linen, which can be easily recycled down the line. These shoes are constructed using Strobel construction, a specialized shoemaking method that boosts shoe comfort while cutting adhesive use by 70-80% compared to studded construction techniques. This construction method also increases the shoe's breathability and helps prevent the unpleasant odors that adhesives can otherwise create upon contact with sweat.
