In 2019, we decided to try a plant-based diet as a way to help the environment. After a month of having fun with new ways of cooking plants, we started feeling better physically. We decided that we could eat plant-based as a lifestyle choice IF we could figure out better cheese than what we were able to buy in the grocery store. We started experimenting at home, and as our cheeses got better, started sharing them with friends. Those friends shared them with others, and before long we had strangers asking if they could place an order. We started Mad Cheese with no capital, three products, and worked out of a church kitchen for the first year. Now in our fifth year, we have over 17 cheese varieties plus charcuterie, a fully equipped production kitchen and a brick and mortar store. We are passionate about making the most delicious, plant-based products and making it easy for more people to eat more plants, more often.
