MATERIALS
The wallet is made of kraft paper, a vegan material chosen for being attractive, long-lasting, and both sustainable and environmentally friendly. The wood pulp that goes into this kraft paper comes from FSC-certified sustainable sources.

Founder's Editorial - Kraft Paper Compared to Cork:
Cork products have gained popularity recently, but our research found that cork isn't actually a strong eco-friendly or vegan choice, since the backing - usually polyester - makes up most of the material. The cork itself is just a thin layer glued onto that backing, a small fraction of the overall thickness. By comparison, kraft paper is made of at least 50% cellulose, sometimes up to 80%, making it a far more eco-friendly option in our view. We used to make cork items but stopped manufacturing with them years ago once we understood this better. We'd reconsider cork if a version without a synthetic backing becomes available. The same reasoning applies to cactus leather and apple leather - both are technically vegan, but we avoid them because they contain only a small amount of actual cactus or apple material, with a backing material making up the bulk of the product.
