About This Item

This 5 lb bag of Nugget of Grace comes packed inside a food grade bucket. The product itself is a soy protein concentrate (SPC) that starts out dehydrated - once you rehydrate it quickly with water, broth, or stock, that 5 lbs expands into roughly 25 lbs worth of protein. You have the option to leave it sealed in its original packaging for your food storage needs, or open it up and divide it into smaller containers to suit your own food prep. When cooked together with rice in the same pot, it creates a simple, protein-rich super rice, and compared to using dry beans, this method cuts down on both water usage and cooking time. It's well suited for repackaging and taking along on backpacking trips, camping outings, or including in emergency supplies for natural disasters and other preparedness needs. Shelf life has been tested and confirmed at 5 years; however, since the product has only been in production for 6 years total, 5 years is the longest period it's been able to be tested for so far. That said, when stored using proper long-term storage methods, we expect it to hold up just as well as rice and beans over time.
